Who we are
Precision Flight Controls, Inc. (“PFC,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates the website https://flypfc.com (the “Site”). Our address is 2747 Mercantile Drive, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95742, USA. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at sales@flypfc.com or (916) 414-1310.
Information you give us
Quote requests. When you request a quote we collect the information you enter in the form, which may include your name, title, company, business type, email address, phone numbers, website, mailing address, your training aircraft, the simulator and options you are interested in, certification requirements, how you heard about us, whether you are working with a PFC representative, and any comments you add.
Contact form. When you message us we collect the department you select, your name, business name, email address, phone number and your message.
Comments. When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Accounts. If you have a login on the Site (for example a staff or customer account), we store the profile information you provide.
Phone, email and in-person contact. If you call, email or meet us, we keep the information needed to respond and to manage our business relationship with you.
Information collected automatically
Site journey. Our Site records, in your own browser’s local storage, the page you entered on, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link you clicked, and the pages you view with the time spent on each. This information stays in your browser and is sent to us only if you submit a quote request, when it is attached to your request together with your IP address so our sales team understands what you were looking at. It is not used for advertising.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, how you arrived, and interactions such as button clicks, video plays and form submissions. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address to derive approximate location without storing it. We do not send names, email addresses or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics. Google’s privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Server logs and security. Our hosting provider and the Site record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and referring URLs for security, performance and troubleshooting.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to quote requests and messages, prepare proposals and sales records, provide technical support, process and ship orders, send you information about PFC products and events, operate and improve the Site, detect spam and protect against misuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Email updates. When you submit a quote request, your name and email address are added to our email list, which we use to follow up on your request, send PFC company updates and send occasional marketing messages about PFC products only. We do not share our email list with anyone. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies set by the Site itself. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga, plus _ga_ followed by an ID) that distinguish visitors and sessions; they typically last up to two years.
Local storage. The site journey record described above is kept in your browser’s local storage under the key pfc_jrny and resets after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Your choices. You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some Site features, such as staying logged in.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Video on the Site is served from YouTube and from our video hosting provider.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Site and our business, acting on our instructions: our web host, Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and Google Workspace tools our sales team uses to track quote requests), our email marketing provider (Constant Contact), our email delivery services and our internal sales and proposal system.
- Shipping carriers, freight forwarders and payment processors as needed to fulfil an order you place.
- Professional advisers, and authorities or other parties when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of PFC, our customers or others.
- A successor business in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Quote requests are handled only by PFC staff and are not shared with anyone outside PFC, other than the service providers above that store or deliver them for us. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not buy personal information from data brokers or other third parties.
How long we keep information
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Quote requests, contact messages and the related journey information are kept for as long as needed to respond, to maintain our sales and customer records, and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings.
Your rights and choices
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Anyone may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about them, or to stop sending marketing email, by contacting us at the address in the “Who we are” section. We will verify your identity before acting on a request and respond within the time required by law.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion; to request correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information); to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it beyond what is needed to provide our services); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may make a request by email or phone using the contact details in the “Who we are” section, and you may use an authorized agent. The categories of personal information we have collected in the past 12 months are identifiers, contact and commercial information, internet activity, and professional information, as described in the sections above, for the purposes in the “How we use information” section, shared with the recipients in the “Who we share information with” section.
Visitors outside the United States. The Site is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. Where applicable law (such as the EU or UK GDPR) gives you additional rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, you may exercise them by contacting us. Our legal bases for processing are performance of a contract or steps before one (quotes, orders, support), our legitimate interests in running and improving the Site and our business, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with law.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The Site does not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of through these browser signals; we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Information you submit is stored on our servers in the United States and with the service providers listed in the “Who we share information with” section, some of which may process it in other countries.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and limited staff access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data breach procedures
If a security incident affects your personal information, we will investigate, take steps to contain it, and notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including California’s data breach notification law.
Third parties we receive data from
We do not receive personal information about Site visitors from third parties, other than the technical information our service providers return to us (for example analytics reports and spam-check results).
Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Analytics and the site journey record are used only to understand interest in our products and to help our sales team respond.
Children
The Site is intended for businesses, training organizations and adult pilots. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Industry regulatory disclosures
PFC is a manufacturer of FAA approved aviation training devices. FAA Letters of Authorization and related documents for our devices are published on our FAA Documentation page. No other industry-specific privacy disclosures apply to the Site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
