Introducing the newest enhancement to our Caravan AATD: 6DOF Motion.
This advanced motion system adds a new level of realism, fidelity, and training value by allowing pilots to experience more accurate aircraft movement, dynamic flight cues, runway effects, turbulence, and overall aircraft response. The result is a more immersive and operationally relevant training environment that better represents real-world Caravan flight operations.
This is not your typical AATD.
Our Cessna Caravan AATD is engineered with a level of functionality, fidelity, and system depth normally associated with higher-level Flight Training Devices. It provides type-specific cockpit layout, realistic avionics operation, representative aircraft systems, control loading, enhanced visuals, and optional 6DOF motion to create a much more capable and operationally relevant training environment than a conventional AATD. While certified as an AATD, the device is designed to deliver many of the training features and functional capabilities operators expect from a higher-level FTD—without the same certification burden, site-specific qualification process, or ownership cost.
Owning your own Cessna Caravan AATD can save significant time and money by bringing advanced training directly to your facility.
Instead of sending pilots off-site, paying for travel, hotels, airline tickets, rental cars, instructor scheduling, and simulator time at another training center, operators can conduct recurrent training, instrument procedures, emergency procedures, systems training, and proficiency checks in-house. With your own Caravan simulator, training can be scheduled around your operation—not someone else’s calendar. Pilots can practice more often, address weak areas immediately, and repeat critical procedures without burning fuel, adding aircraft hours, increasing maintenance costs, or taking the actual aircraft out of service.
The result is lower training cost, less downtime, better pilot proficiency, and a safer, more efficient operation.
This is why owning a Cessna Caravan AATD can make a strong business case. Every hour spent practicing IFR procedures, emergencies, avionics training, engine failures, abnormal procedures, approaches, weather scenarios, and recurrent training in the simulator can reduce aircraft operating cost, aircraft downtime, fuel burn, maintenance exposure, and scheduling conflicts.
With real Caravan operating costs often exceeding $1,000 per flight hour, owning your own Caravan AATD allows operators to conduct high-value training in-house without burning fuel, adding aircraft hours, increasing maintenance costs, or taking the aircraft out of service. The simulator gives pilots the ability to repeat procedures, practice emergencies, and maintain proficiency at a fraction of the cost of using the actual aircraft.
What Clients Say About Our Flight Training Devices
SimCheck International has used PFC Simulators for their advanced simulator-based flight training for over 8 years. These simulators have amazing capability and provide an outstanding platform for their pilot clients who consist primarily of professional pilots and flight crews.
“The PFC Modular Flight Deck Turboprop B-200 has been the core simulator for our training. We use highly advanced scenarios that require a simulator with advanced navigation capabilities, superior fidelity and visuals, and outstanding reliability. The PFC Sim’s have continued to improve over the years and we have been able to develop and teach the most demanding and realistic scenarios using these Simulators” offers SimCheck International’s Director of Training, Juan Mendez. A recent client, a retired B-767 Captain who completed the initial course for the King Air C90, remarked after a session, “I feel like I just got out of the sim at American”.
The DCX MAX with ProMotion motion base is an ideal platform to maximize training experience toward any pilot certificate or rating being sought. The system is a fantastic and efficient way to maintain currency and proficiency after the rating is earned. The wide variety of aircraft models available to train with and the accuracy of aircraft performance make this AATD very cost effective and second to none in value. The simulator is very cost effective for flight schools and active freelance instructors alike. The entire staff at Precision Flight Controls is great to work with before, during, and after the sale
The Medallion Foundation maintains a fleet of Precision Flight Controls’ simulators at ten locations throughout the state of Alaska. The simulators are made available to operators under the direction of the Medallion Foundation Star and Shield program. These systems are mainly used by members of the Alaska Air Carriers Association (AACA) for accident prevention training (CFIT), by CFI’s for flight training, and by private and commercial pilots for instrument proficiency and currency.
According to Medallion’s Simulator Manager, Glen Morthorpe, “Precision Flight Controls’ simulators were chosen because of their exceptional affordability and reliability. I have worked with many advanced simulators at the airlines and consider PFC’s simulators to have fidelity that is nearly as good”.
For the past year, we have researched general aviation flight simulator manufacturers. Due to the expense of purchasing an AATD, we were looking for the best pricing available that would provide as much realism as possible. We found that Precision Flight Controls provided the best options. Our Precision Flight Controls’ DCX MAX is the closest general aviation simulator compared to the other manufacturers that meet AATD requirements that we considered. As a retired airline pilot, I found that the fidelity and realism were as good as, and in many cases better than, the level D simulators I had used at the airlines.
The entire Precision Flight Controls team consists of true professionals, which made my experience seamless from start to finish. Their technical support has been nothing less than outstanding.
For our operations, one of the most impressive aspects of Precision Flight Controls is that they continue to upgrade and improve their systems. This means over time we will be able to keep our simulator up to date. As our company continues to grow, and with our DCX MAX AATD usage expanding, we are planning to purchase a second simulator when the time comes.
